Last Saturday my wife and I went to Kanazawa to visit our ancestors' graves. We have graves in Nodayama Graveyard, Daienji Temple on Teramachi Street and Intokuji Temple on Nomachi Street (two graves at the last place). To visit all these graves is one of our annual events. First we go to Nodayama Graveyard, located on a low mountain, by taxi from the hotel in front of JR Kanazawa Station. Next we go to Daienji Temple again by taxi. Then we walk to Intokuji Temple, from which we return to the hotel by bus. It is also customary to enjoy local dishes in the evening and sightseeing in the next morning. This time, however, it was rainy on Sunday too, and we did not go sightseeing. We stayed at the hotel until about 10 o'clock and took the return train at 12:53 after shopping and lunch at the station building. The sketch above shows the view from the hotel room. The mountain seen through the mist is Utatsuyama (also called Mukaiyama, which means "the mountain in front of us" or "the mountain over there").
