ボケ (Flowering Quince)

　今年の冬、そして3月に入ってからも、寒い日が多かったので、いろいろな花の咲き始めるのが遅いようである。上掲のボケの写真は、さる8日、津久野南団地で、ちらほら咲き始めたばかりのものを撮った。同じボケの木を、昨年は3月3日に撮っているが、そのときにはもっと盛んに咲いていた。

This winter and early March, we had many cold days. Thus, blooming of different flowers seem to come to bloom later than usual. The above picture of the blossoms of "flowering quince," taken in Tsukuno Minami Danchi on March 8, 2011, shows just the beginning of blooming. The photo of the same tree, taken on March 3, 2010, showed a lot of blossoms.
