ヒイラギナンテン (Mahonia)

　ヒイラギナンテン（柊南天、メギ科）。常緑で落葉はしないが、冬に赤銅色になる部分があり、紅葉のようになる [1]。各種の色の葉が混じりあっているのを面白く思い、撮影した［英文説明の 1e 引用箇所も合わせて読むと、色の混じり合いが納得出来る］。2011年12月5日、津久野南団地で。

Mahonia; botanical name, Mahonia japonica; family, Berberidaceae. This plant produces new shoots regularly from the base, so that it is clothed in foliage at all levels [1e]. I took the above photo thinking it interesting that foliage was showing a mix of various colors (in Tsukunominami housing complex, December 5, 2011).
