刀工の火花暮らしや龍の玉

火花の散る仕事場の傍らにも、常緑の草、龍の髭の青い実が目を楽しませてくれる情景があるように、何かと厳しい情勢のもとでも、心豊かに過ごしたいものです。

"Tōkō no hibana gurashi ya ryu-no-tama"

The above haiku poem mentions the following scenery: Even at the side of a sword-smith's workplace, where sparks scatter, there are blue berries of the ever-green plant ryu-no-tama (dragon's beard, known as mondo grass in English), which are pleasing to the eye. Similarly, we should live a spiritually rich life even under harsh social conditions. (Year 2012 is called the year of the dragon in Japan and China. So, I have quoted the above haiku that includes the word "dragon.")
I wish all of you that the year of 2012 be filled with good health and happiness.

返信削除ここ南スウェーデンはあいにくの雨。暖冬の影響で冬らしい景色にはまだなっていませんが、寒さで手がかじかむこともなく過ごせるありがたみもあります。
