オランダ、ベルギー運河の船旅 ２９ (Cruise on Canals in the Netherlands and Belgium -29-)

　4月21日の午前は、ドルドレヒトからバスで約30分のキンデルダイクへ行き、40人乗りの小型ボートで風車群を見学した。キンデルダイク・エルスハウトの風車網は、1740年頃、干拓地の排水用に19基作られ、1997年にユネスコの世界遺産に登録された。

In the morning of April 21, we went to Kinderdijk, which was about 30 minutes by bus from the Dordrecht port, and looked at windmills by riding on a 40-seat boat. The mill Network at Kinderdijk-Elshout, a system consisting of 19 windmills, was built around 1740 in order to drain the polder and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.

私の書棚に絵葉書を飾ってあるゴッホの作品『モンマルトルの風車』（ブリヂストン美術館所蔵）を思い浮かべながら、写真を撮る。
I took this and other photos of windmills by remembering Van Gogh's Windmills of Montmartre (a collection of the Bridgestone Museum of Art), whose image on a postcard had been put in one of my bookshelves.
