2 月 2〜4 日、「かんぽの宿」を利用して、妻と愛知・岐阜方面への旅行をした。初日には、「かんぽの宿・知多美浜」の送迎バスの来る名鉄・知多奥田駅の一つ手前、美浜緑苑駅で一旦降りて、杉本美術館を訪れた。リーフレットには、駅から徒歩 5 分とあるが、実際には、新しい住宅地の間を歩いて、15 分ほどかかった。
杉本美術館には、名古屋生まれの画家・杉本健吉の初期から晩年までの約 5,000 点が納められている。これらの作品は、杉本が「絵はパブリックなもの」という信念をもっていたため、売らないで所蔵していた自作品を名古屋鉄道が設立した財団法人杉本美術館へ寄贈したものである。美術館は本館と別館からなり、900 円の入館料に 100 円を加えると、本館内の休憩室で、抹茶と菓子のサービスを楽しめる。
2014 年 1 月 1 日から 4 月 15 日まで、『杉本健吉没後 10 年記念作品展 III (1951～2004)：生涯現役』と『僕を描く僕がいる』が同時開催中である。愛犬トムを配した何枚もの絵や若い頃から晩年までの自画像などに見られるユーモラスな描き方がとくに気に入った。
From February 2 to 4, I went on a trip with my wife to Aichi and Gifu Prefectures by using "Kampo Inns." On the first day, we dropped at Mihama-ryokuen of Nagoya Railway Line before going to Chita-okuda, where we were to be picked up by the shuttle bus of "Kampo Inn Chita-mihama," and visited Sugimoto Art Museum. They write in the leaflet of the museum that it is a 5-minute walk from the station, but, in fact, we had to walk about 15 minutes passing through a new residential area.
Sugimoto Art Museum has a collection of about 5000 works by Kenkichi Sugimoto, from his early years to later years. Sugimoto, born in Nagoya, had the belief, "Pictures are public things," and did not sell those works but donated them to the museum. The museum consists of the main building and an annex. Adding 100 yen to the admission of 900 yen, we get the service of green tea and a sweet in the break room of the main building.
From January 1 to April 15, 2014, the museum is showing the exhibition 10th Anniversary of the Death of Kenkichi Sugimoto (1951-2004) III: Being active throughout his life, together with the simultaneous one Here is I who draw me. I especially liked his humorous style which was seen in some pictures including his pet dog Tom and self-portraits from his young to later ages.
