昨9月17日午後3時半から堺市民会館で開催された表記のコンサートを妻と聞きに行った。休憩なしの 2 時間 45 分の間、プログラムの 11 曲とアンコールの 1 曲を秋川雅史自身のトークがスムーズにつなぎ、退屈することがなかった。歌われた曲は「君は我が心のすべて」、「ああ愛する人の」、「この道」、「泣かないお前」、「千の風になって」など。トークの中での「きょう皆さんは一番若いのです、来たるべき未来の日々の中で。新しいことに挑戦しましょう」というような言葉が、敬老の日にふさわしかった。

Eleven songs on the program and an encore song were connected smoothly by Akikawa's own speech, so that we were able to enjoy full 2 hours and 45 minutes without a break. The songs he sang were "You are my heart's delight," "O del mio amato ben," "Kono michi (This road)," "Tu, ca nun chiagne!" "Do not stand at my grave and weep," etc. In his talk, he said like this: "Today, all of you are the youngest compared with yourselves in the coming days. Let's dare to try something new." These were just suitable words for the Respect-for-the-Aged Day.

「この道」その他の日本の歌のときは、声量が豊か過ぎて、いささか似合わない感じがしました。プログラムにイタリアの歌をもっと入れて欲しかったという、ぜいたくな思いをしました。
