旅の 2 日目（3 月 8 日）には、今月の毎金曜日に斎藤ホテルが催行しているバス旅行「養命酒工場見学と喬木村いちご狩り」（ホテル発 9:00）に参加した。同ホテルのバス旅行は、昔の駕篭（かご）による旅にちなんで「斎藤駕篭屋」と名づけられている。
最初の 2 枚の写真は、養命酒工場へ向う途中の車窓から撮った風景。この辺りでは山々が、近景、中景、遠景の三層に見えるそうだが、この日はあいにく、霧や雲で遠景の山々は残念ながら見えなかった。
次の 2 枚は、養命酒駒ヶ根工場の敷地内の風景。3枚目の左側に見えるのが工場の建物の一部。敷地内では、縄文・弥生時代から平安時代にかけての遺跡が発見され、縄文・弥生時代の住居を復元した場所もある。短距離ながら、4 通りの自然散策コースも設けられている。養命酒の製造工程はほとんど自動化されていて、作業している人々は少ない。力仕事も不要なので、大部分は女性の作業員だということである。工場内は撮影禁止だった。
最後の写真は、昼食をとった「和みの湯宿 なかやま」の入り口。（つづく）
On the second day of the trip (March 8), we joined a bus tour "Visiting Yomeishu Plant and Strawberry Picking in Takagi Village," which started at 9:00 am from the hotel. This tour is held every Friday this month. Bus tours sponsored by Saito Hotel is called "Saito Kago-ya" after the name of the means, kago, of human transportation in feudal Japan.
The first two photos show landscapes viewed from the bus window on our way to Yomeishu Plant. In this area, mountains are seen in three layers, i.e., as mountains nearby, those in the middle ground and those in the distance. Unfortunately, we were unable to see mountains in the distance that day because of fogs and clouds.
The next two photos show landscapes of the site of Yomeishu Komagane Plant. At the left of the third photo, some buildings of the plant are seen. Ruins of Jomon, Yayoi and Heian periods were found on this site, and there are the residences restored of the Jomon and Yayoi periods. Four courses, though short ones, to enjoy walking in the natural environment are provided. Manufacturing processes of Yomeishu (liquor good for health) are automated, and any heavy lifting is not required. So, people working there are mostly women. Taking photos in the plant was prohibited.
The bottom photo shows the entrance to "Comfort Hot Spring Inn Nakayama," where we had lunch. (To be continued)
