ドナウ川クルーズ １ (Cruise on the Danube -1-)

旅の予定経路（ニッコウトラベル社のパンフレットから引用）。ブダペストからパッサウまでのクルーズ予定が、本文中記す通りの理由で、ブダペストのホテルで 2 泊、
クルーズ出発はブラチスラバからと変更になった。

　2013 年 10 月 18 日から 28 日まで、妻と私はニッコウトラベル社催行の「世界遺産バッハウ渓谷を満喫：美しく青きドナウの船旅」に参加した。同社が建造しオランダ船籍となっているセレナーデ II 号を利用する旅で、私たちは先に同じ船によるライン・マイン両川とオランダ・ベルギーの運河の旅を体験している（その旅行記はこちらとこちら）。

　当初の計画では、航空機でブダペストへ到着後、すぐにセレナーデ II 号に乗り込むことになっていた。ところが、スロバキアの首都ブラチスラバから東へ約 50 km の街カブチコボの水門修復工事のため、船舶がその水門を通過することが出来なくなり、最初の船中2泊分がブダペストのインターコンチネンタル・ホテルでの宿泊に、そして、セレナーデ II 号への乗船は 20 日夕刻、ブラチスラバにおいてと、急きょ変更された。しかし、19 日のブダペスト観光の予定には影響はなく、20 日のヴィシェグラードとエステルゴム観光の出発点がそれぞれの港だったのが、ブダペストからのバスで続けて行くことに変っただけで、観光内容には全く変更がなかった。

　同じクルーズに、関西空港から出発した私たち 11 名の他に、成田空港からの 30 名、そして、4 日早く両空港を出発して、スロヴェニアとクロアチアの観光を余分にしたあと合流した 28 名の、合計 69 名が参加した。

From October 18 to 28, 2013, My wife and I joined the travel "Enjoying Wachau, One of World Heritage Sites, and Cruise on the Danube" sponsored by Nikko Travel Co. Ltd. For this cruise, the Serenade II, built by this company and having the ship's flag of the Netherlands, was used. We had experience of cruises by this ship on the Rhine and Main as well as on canals in the Netherlands and Belgium (for the records of those cruises, see here and here).

It was originally planned to board the Serenade II immediately after arriving at Budapest by airplane. However, it happened that ships were unable to pass through the lock gate of Gabčikovo, about 50 km east to the capital Bratislava of Slovakia, because of its reconstruction work. Thus, the earliest part of the plan was hastily changed to a two-night stay at the Intercontinental Hotel in Budapest and boarding the ship at Bratislava port in the evening of October 20. In spite of these changes, plans of sightseeing in Budapest, Visegrád and Esztergom was not affected at all.

The total number of passengers in this cruise was 69, consisting of 11 members of our group from Kansai Airport, 30 members from Narita Airport and 28 people who had started four days earlier than us to have extra tourism in Croatia and Slovenia.

キンモクセイの花が散り敷く (Scattered Sweet Osmanthus Blossoms Covered the Ground)

　大阪管区気象台は昨 11 月 4 日、近畿地方で「木枯らし 1 号」が吹いたと発表した。昨年より 6 日遅かったとのことである。当地・堺では、強い風は感じられなかったが、前日の雨で、わが家のキンモクセイの花がほとんど散り、地面をオレンジ色に染めていた。写真は 4 日午後早くに撮影。

On November 4, they announced at Osaka Meteorological Observatory that the first cold wintry wind of this year had blown in the Kinki district. It was later by 6 days than last year. Here in Sakai, we did not experience strong wind, but the rain of the previous day scattered the blossoms of sweet osmanthus in my yard to cover the ground by orange color. The photo was taken in the early afternoon of November 4.

ハナミズキの紅葉 (Autumn Leaves of Flowering Dogwood)

　先般ドナウ川周辺の黄葉を堪能して来たところだが、当地ではそろそろ木々の紅葉が始まる。1 枚目の写真はわが家の庭のハナミズキ（きょう、2013 年 11 月 4 日撮影）、2 枚目の写真は堺市・鈴の宮公園のハナミズキ（10 月 31 日撮影）。

Coming back from the trip in which I enjoyed the yellow leaves around the Danube, I now see autumn colors beginning to be displayed by trees here. The upper photo shows the flowering dogwood in my yard, (taken on November 4, 2013) and the lower, the same plant in Suzunomiya Park, Sakai (shot on October 31, 2013).

今年最後のモミジアオイの花 (This Year's Last Flower of Scarlet Rose Mallow)

　モミジアオイの花期は夏である。しかし、今年は秋も気温が高かったせいか、わが家の庭では長く咲き続けた。11 月 1 日に撮影した上掲の写真の花で、ようやく終りとなる。この植物の花は、夏には 1 日でしおれてしまうのだが、写真の花は 2 日後のきょうになっても、まだ元気である。

The flowering season of scarlet rose mallow is the summer. However, this plant continued to bloom in my yard for a long time this year probably because temperatures were somewhat high also in the fall. The flower in the above photo, taken on November 1, is the last one this year. Flowers of this plant wither in a day, in the summer, but the flower of the above photo is in bloom vividly even two days after the shot.

ヒイラギモクセイ (Fortune's Sweet Olive)

　昨年 10 月 29 日、堺市・鈴の宮団地北端に続く生け垣のところでヒイラギモクセイの花を撮影したときには、花が少なくて、写りのよさそうなものを選ぶのに苦労した。しかし、今年は同じ生け垣全体によく花が咲いていて、香りもかなり強く漂っている。

When I took a photo of blossoms of fortune's sweet olive on October 29 last year at one of the north-end hedges of Suzunomiya housing complex, Sakai, last year, it was somewhat difficult to find photogenic one among a small number of groups of blossoms. However, many blossoms are in bloom on the entire region of the same hedges this year, and fragrance is well floating around.
