理論物理学者の分類、とくに湯川と朝永について (Classifications of Theoretical Physicists, Especially of Yukawa and Tomonaga)

　［概要 (Abstract in Japanese)］亀淵廸氏が『図書』誌 2012 年 12 月号に「グラムシの言葉と湯川・朝永・坂田」と題するエッセイを書いている。氏は「知ることから分かることへ、感じることへ、そしてその逆、感じることから分かることへ、知ることへ——の移りゆき」という A・グラムシの言葉にある「感じる」「分かる」「知る」を理論物理学における三つの段階に当てはめ、それらを I「実務家」、II「理論家」、III「自然哲学者」の段階と名づける。次いで、日本における素粒子論の開拓者、湯川秀樹、朝永振一郎、坂田昌一を I、II、III の型に分類することを試みている。ここでは、この分類について紹介するとともに、これを南部陽一郎氏が提唱した 2 種類の分類方法による湯川と朝永についての分類結果と比較する。［本文（英文）へ］

コダチダリア (Bell Tree Dahlia)

　コダチダリア［木立（こだち）ダリア］（キク科）。皇帝ダリアとも呼ばれる。2012 年 11 月 25 日、堺市・八田荘公園（上の写真）と近隣（下の写真）で撮影。この花を初めて見たのは昨年のことで、秋も深まっている時に、大きなピンクの花を見て、夢のような心地がしたのだった（昨年の写真の方が美しく撮れている。今年は撮影時期が遅かった）。一旦覚えると、不思議なもので、列車の窓から遠方に咲いているのにも気づく。

Bell tree dahlia; botanical name, Dahlia imperialis; family, Asteraceae. Photos were taken in Hattasō Park, Sakai, (upper) and in the neighborhood of my house (lower), on November 25, 2012. When I saw this plant for the first time last year, I felt like being in the dream because it had such large, pink flowers as were quite rare in late autumn. (Photos I took at that time were better than the ones above. I was late to find the flowers of this plant on my way of walking this year.) It happens that I often notice flowers of this plant even in the distance from the window of the train after having once known it.

わが家のイロハモミジ、１２年版 (Japanese Maple in Our Yard, 2012)

　わが家のイロハモミジは、近くの公園などのものより紅葉が遅れていたが、いま見頃である。写真は昨日、二階から撮影した。昨年と比べても遅かったかと思ったが、そうではなく、昨年は 12 月13 日のブログ記事に見頃と書いていた。

The Japanese maple tree in our yard has been slower to develop autumn colors than those in nearby parks and has become at its best now. The photo above was taken at the second floor of our house yesterday. I thought that the best time had come also later compared with last year, but it was wrong. Last year, I wrote about its best colors in the blog post of December 13.
