トサミズキ (Winter Hazel)

　トサミズキ（土佐水木、マンサク科）。2012年3月25日、鈴の宮団地で撮影。

Winter hazel; botanical name, Corylopsis spicata; family, Hamamelidaceae. The photo was taken in Suzunomiya housing complex on March 25, 2012.

スノーフレークなど (Spring Snowflake, etc.)

　上の写真はスノーフレーク（ヒガンバナ科）。2012年3月25日、鈴の宮団地で撮影。中と下の写真は、先に生け花の形で紹介したラッパスイセンとヘレボルスの、わが家の庭で咲いている様子。3月24日撮影。

The top photo shows spring snowflakes (botanical name, Leucojum vernum; family, Amaryllidaceae), taken in Suzunomiya housing complex on March 25, 2012. The middle and the bottom photos show flowers of wild daffodil and hellebores in our yard, taken on March 24, 2012. The picture of these flowers my wife used for flower arrangement was posted some days ago.

ハナモモとヒュウガミズキ (Hana Peach and Buttercup Winter-Hazel)

　写真上：ハナモモ（花桃、バラ科）。中と下：ヒュウガミズキ（マンサク科）。2012年3月21、24日、堺市・鳳公園で撮影。今年はまだ寒い、といっているうちにも、いろいろな花が次つぎに咲き始めている。（昨年これらの花を掲載したのはもっと早く、3月11日と15日だった。）

The upper photo shows blossoms of hana peach (botanical name, Prunus persica; family, Rosaceae). The middle and the bottom photo show blossoms of buttercup winter-hazel (botanical name, Corylopsis pauciflora; family Hamamelidaceae). The photos were taken in Otori Park, Sakai, on March 21 and 24, 2012. While we are saying, "It's still cold this year," different blossoms and flowers have begun to bloom. (Last year, I posted the pictures of these blossoms much earlier, on March 11 and 15.)

ジンチョウゲ (Winter Daphne)

　ジンチョウゲ（沈丁花、ジンチョウゲ科）。2012年3月19、24日、わが家の庭で撮影。花を見るよりも先に香りでその存在の知られる植物は、秋のキンモクセイと春先のジンチョウゲである。

Winter Daphne; botanical name, Daphne odora; family, Thymelaeaceae. The photo was taken in our yard, on March 19 and 24, 2012. The plant the presence of which can be known by its fragrance before looking at its flowers is a winter daphne in early spring and an osmanthus in autumn.

ラッパスイセンとヘレボルス (Wild Daffodil and Hellebores)

　写真はラッパスイセン（喇叭水仙、ヒガンバナ科）とヘレボルス（キンポウゲ科）。昨日、「明日は雨風の強い日になる」と予報で聞き、妻がわが家の庭に咲いていたこれらの花を切り取って生け花にした。

The photo shows wild daffodil (botanical name, Narcissus pseudonarcissus; family, Amaryllidaceae) and hellebores [botanical name, Helleborus (genus); family, Ranunculaceae]. Hearing, "It would strongly be windy and rainy tomorrow," my wife took these flowers from our yard and enjoyed flower arranging by them yesterday.
