4 月 4 日午前 9 時 45 分に、JR 東京駅丸の内中央改札口で M・Y 君（毎月の「○年○月分記事へのエム・ワイ君の感想」の著者である、大学生時代からの友人）と待ち合わせた。まず、東京駅 丸の内駅舎のよい眺めの得られる丸ビル 5 階テラスと日本郵便の商業施設「KITTE（キッテ）」4階の旧東京中央郵便局長室を案内して貰った。上掲の写真 1 枚目と 2 枚目はそれぞれ、これらの場所から撮ったものである（1 枚目は、クリックすると拡大イメージをご覧になれる）。
次いで、三菱一号館美術館で開催中の「奇跡のクラーク・コレクション—ルノワールとフランス絵画の傑作—」展へ案内して貰った。同美術館は、「丸の内ブリックスクエア」を構成する施設として、2010 年に開館したものである。上記の展覧会は、米国マサチューセッツ州にあるクラーク美術館のコレクションから、中でも質の高い印象派を中心とするフランス絵画をまとめて紹介しており、5 月 26 日まで開催されている。3 枚目の写真は、ルノワールの作品「劇場の桟敷席」をあしらった同展チケットの上部である。
展示されている作品は、ルノワールのほか、ミレー、ピサロ、マネ、モネらのものを含み、全部で 73 点もあり、そのうち 59 点が初来日だという。いくつかの部屋を見て、十分に堪能したと思ったら、ドアの先にまだひと部屋が残っていた。私自身を含めて、印象派ファンが何度でも訪れたくなるような展覧会である。
美術館前の明るいレストランで M・Y 君と昼食をともにしながら語り合ったあと、東京駅で別れた。楽しい 3日間の記憶を胸に、ひかり 513 号で 15 時 30 分に新大阪帰着。（完）
At 9:45 am April 4, I met Mr. M. Y., a friend of mine since university days, at Marunouchi central entrance of JR Tokyo Station. First, he guided me to the fifth-floor terrace of Marunouchi Building and the previous room of the Director, Tokyo Central Post Office, on the fourth floor of "Kitte," both of which gave us a good view of Marunouchi building of JR Tokyo Station. The first and second photos above were taken at these places (clicking the first photo makes you see an enlarged image).
Next, we visited Mitsubishi Ichigokan Museum to see the exhibition "Great French Paintings from the Clark." The museum was opened in 2010 as a facility to make up "Marunouchi Brick Square." The exhibition, to be held until May 26, is showing paintings of outstanding quality, mainly those by Pierre-August Renoir and other French Impressionists, from the Sterling & Francine Clark Art Institute (simply called the Clark) in Massachusetts, United States. The third photo shows the upper part of the ticket for the exhibition, decorated with Renoir's "At the Concert, a Box at the Opera."
In addition to Renoir's works, there were those of Jean-François Millet, Jacob Camille Pissarro, Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, et al, and the total number of works amounted 73, including 59 paintings that came to Japan for the first time. After looking at works in several rooms, we felt to have enjoyed so much, but there was one more room ahead of a door. This is an exhibition of the kind that makes fans of Impressionism paintings, to which I belong, want to visit again and again.
Then, Mr. M. Y. and I talked over lunch at a bright restaurant in front of the museum, before parting at Tokyo Station. With the memory of three delightful days, I returned to Shin-Osaka at 15:30 by the bullet train Hikari 513. (End)
