キダチアロエ（木立ち蘆薈、アロエ科）。2013年2月3日、石津川のほとりで撮影。このところ毎冬、ここに咲くキダチアロエの花を撮影しているが、この冬は花が見頃になるのが遅かったようだ。
わが家の庭の奥にもこの植物があり、花は咲かないが増えて来たので、小さな一株を陽当たりのよい前庭に移植しておいた。すると、わが家の庭を手入れに来る植木屋さんから、そこに植えたのでは増え過ぎて、他の植物の生長によくないから、植木鉢に植えた方がよいとの助言を受けた。改めて庭の奥を見ると、確かに大変な勢いで増えていたことが分り、前庭に移植したものと合わせて、多くの株を抜き取った。
Krantz aloe; botanical name, Aloe arborescens; family, Aloaceae. The photo was taken on February 3, 2013, at the side of Ishizu River. These years, I have been taking photos of flowers of this plant here every winter. It seems that the flowers were slow to become their best this winter.
This plant has considerably extended its root at the back of my yard, though it has never bloomed yet. So, I took a small part of the root and transplanted it at the sunny front of the yard. Then, the gardener who takes care of my yard advised me that I should put it in a flowerpot because it would grow too extensively to impede the growth of other plants. Looking at the back of my yard again, I found that this plant was certainly growing at a great pace. Thus, I removed much of its root as well as the one transplanted at the front of the yard.
