前立腺がんシンポジウム (Symposium on Prostate Cancer)

Abstract: Yesterday, I attended the symposium "All of prostate cancer" held in Osaka. The sponsor of the symposium was NPO J-Cap (Japan Study Group of Prostate Cancer). They recently opened the Web site "The point of contact for patients." This site can be reached from the home page of J-Cap. I strongly recommend the patients of prostate cancer in Japan (or their families) to become members of this site. 　昨27日午後、ホテルモントレグラミアス大阪で行なわれたシンポジウム「前立腺がんのすべて」を聞きに行った。主催は NPO 法人 J-Cap 研究会。まず、「前立腺がんとはどんな病気ですか？」「前立腺がんの検診とはどんなものですか？」「前立腺がんの治療にはどんなものがありますか？」と題する講演があった。これらについては、すでにこの病気の放射線治療を受けた私にとって、とくに目新しいことはなかった。続いて、放送タレントで自らも前立腺がんを治療中の永六輔氏による「がん 3分の1」という講演があった。

　永氏は、前立腺がんから離れて、「よい患者であるための10カ条」などをユーモアたっぷりに話した。氏はパーキンソン病も患っており、また、最近交通事故にもあったという。そのどちらのためだったか忘れたが、病院でリハビリをする折に、うつむき加減になって歩いていると、外国人看護師が「上ヲ向イテ歩キマショウ。患者サンハ『上ヲ向イテ歩コウ』ノ歌ヲ知ッテイマスカ。知ッテイタラ、ソレヲ歌イナガラ歩イテ下サイ」といったそうである（永氏はその歌の作詞者ですぞ）。

　その後の永氏と J-Cap 研究会理事長・赤座英之教授の対談（司会は TBS ニュースキャスター・膳場貴子さん。シンポジウム全体の司会も同じ）も面白く、最後の「Q&A セッション」はいくらか参考になった。なお、J-Cap 研究会は「患者様のための健康窓口サイト」を開設している。前立腺がん患者あるいはその家族の方々には、同研究会のホームページからアクセス出来る同サイトを、メンバー登録して利用されることをお勧めする。
