オークランド １ (Auckland 1)

　旅の12日目の午後、オークランド（英：Auckland、マオリ語：Tamaki-makau-rau）に向う。オークランドは、ニュージーランド北島北部に位置するニュージーランド最大の都市である。ワイテマタ湾のシンボルであるハーバー・ブリッジを渡り、湾沿いの美しい海岸通りタマキ・ドライブを通り、マイケル・ジョセフ展望台へ。上の写真の遠景・左側がオークランド中心部。高くそびえているのは、オークランドの観光名所のひとつとなっている「スカイタワー」で、高さ328メートルの南半球で最も高い塔である。［ニュージーランド旅行の写真 157; 2004年1月15日］

In the afternoon of the twelfth day of the trip, we moved to Auckland (Tamaki-makau-rau in Maori). Auckland is New Zealand's largest city, located in northern New Zealand. Passing through the Harbor Bridge (the symbol of the Waitemata Harbor) and Tamaki Drive along the beautiful bay, we arrived at Michael Joseph Observatory. The photo above shows, on the left, a distant view of downtown Auckland. The tall tower is called "Sky Tower," which is one of the attractions of Auckland.
