レンブラント光線 (Rembrandt Rays)

　上掲の写真に見られるような、雲間から漏れ出る光線を「天使の梯子」、「レンブラント光線」などと呼ぶことを、一ヵ月足らず前にこのブログサイトへのコメントで教えて貰ったばかりである。気象現象としては「薄明光線」の名がある。その後、このような光景を見るたびに、写真を撮りたくなる。世界中に多い飢餓、疾病、争いなどなどの上に、薄明光線よりもたっぷりの光が当てられ、それらが解消して行くことを望む。（2010年12月22日、近隣で撮影。下を流れているのは石津川）

Less than a month ago, I learned that the light beams emitted from the gap among clouds, as seen in the above photo, were called "angel's ladder," "Jacob's ladder," or "Rembrandt rays." As an atmospheric phenomenon, they are called "crepuscular rays." After that, every time I see such scenery, I want to take a picture of it. We see a lot of hunger, disease and conflict the world over. I wish that much more light than crepuscular rays shines on them so that they are removed. The photo was taken near our house on December 22, 2010. The stream below is Ishizu River.
