写真は、わが家の植木鉢で育てているセイロンベンケイの一株についたツボミ。同じものを少し異なる位置で撮った。室内で鉢を移動して、光の当り具合も変えた。これらのツボミは、先月、針の先ほどの大きさから始まり、とてもゆっくり生長している。最も大きいツボミの長さが、まだ 1.5 cm ほどである。この鉢は二階において日光によく当てているが、一階にあるもっと大きな鉢には、二本の株が早くからツボミをつけて、より大きく生長している。ただし、陽当たりがあまりよくないので、まだ赤みをさすにいたらない。なお、先年、この植物の花弁の生長を 6 段階で記録した一連の写真を掲載した。
Photos above, taken at two different viewpoints, show buds of an air plant (Kalanchoe pinnata) growing in a pot in my house. Different lighting conditions were also used by moving the pot in the room. Starting from the earliest size like a tip of a needle last month, these buds are growing extremely slowly. The length of the largest bud is about 1.5 cm yet. We have another, bigger pot on the first floor, which contains two roots. Each of the two roots has produced many buds larger than those in the photos. However, they have gotten less sunlight than those and do not take pink color yet. In a past year, I posted the series of photos that recorded the petals of this plant in the six stages of growth.
