The top photo shows the variety of peach (Prunus persica) that is called Gempei-momo in Japanese and produces red and white blossoms on a single tree and even blossoms with red and white petals (for the origin of the name Gempei-momo, see here); family, Rosaceae. The photo was taken on April , 2011, in Kasaike Park, Sakai.

The bottom photo shows Chinese mahogany, Chinese toon, or red toon; botanical name, Toona sinensis; family, Meliaceae. The red-brown shoots of this plant are especially fine to be appreciated. The photo was taken on the same day as the top one in Ōtori Park, Sakai.
