1枚目の写真はゲンペイモモ(源平桃)。紅白混り咲き品種のハナモモ(花桃、バラ科)である。2011年4月11日、堺市・笠池公園で撮影。
2枚目の写真はチャンチン(香椿、センダン科)。赤褐色の若芽が美しい。同じく4月11日、堺市・鳳公園で撮影。
The top photo shows the variety of peach (Prunus persica) that is called Gempei-momo in Japanese and produces red and white blossoms on a single tree and even blossoms with red and white petals (for the origin of the name Gempei-momo, see here); family, Rosaceae. The photo was taken on April , 2011, in Kasaike Park, Sakai.
The bottom photo shows Chinese mahogany, Chinese toon, or red toon; botanical name, Toona sinensis; family, Meliaceae. The red-brown shoots of this plant are especially fine to be appreciated. The photo was taken on the same day as the top one in Ōtori Park, Sakai.
