キキョウ (Balloon Flower)

　キキョウ（桔梗、キキョウ科）。2011年7月20日、わが家の庭で撮影。わが家には、白い花のものも数年前まであったが、弱い品種なのか、植木鉢の置き場所がよくなかったのか、消滅した。

Balloon flower, also known as platycodon or Chinese bellflower; botanical name, Platycodon grandiflorus; family, Campanulaceae. The photo was taken in our yard, July 20, 2010. Until a few years ago, we had the variety of this plant with white flowers. However, it disappeared because of the weakness of the variety or the improper location of the pot.
