金沢散策 ４ (Strolling in Kanazawa -4-)

　乗り継いだ周遊バスを「香林坊（日銀前）」で降り、中央公園内を歩いた。ここは、加賀藩が1822年に学問所をおいて以来、長い間、学問の場所であった。1887（明治20）年、第四高等学校が設置されてからは「四高」として、長く金沢市民に親しまれてきた。1963年、当時は金沢大学理学部として利用されていた校舎が金沢城内に移転したことに伴い、その跡地を金沢の都心核にふさわしい公園として再整備し、1969年、一般に開放された。

　明治時代に建てられた国指定の重要文化財「旧第四高等中学校本館」は石川四高記念文化交流館として活用されている。同館は、東側の「石川近代文学館」（1枚目の写真）と西側の「石川四高記念館」（2、3枚目の写真）で構成されている。文化交流館の裏には、「芝生広場」が広がっている（4、5枚目の写真）。

In the next ride of the loop bus, I got off at "Korinbo, in front of BOJ" to go to Central Park. This area had long been a place of learning since 1822, when Kaga-han established Gakumonjo. In 1887, the Fourth High School was located here, and the place has been familiar to citizens of Kanazawa as "Shi-kō (Fourth High)" since then. In 1963, the school buildings, used those days by the Faculty of Science, Kanazawa University, were relocated to the area in Kanazawa Castle. The vacant lot was redeveloped as a park worthy of the central core of Kanazawa City, and the park was opened in 1969.

The main building of the Fourth High School, built in the Meiji Period, is nationally designated Important Cultural Properties and has been used as Ishikawa Shi-kō Memorial Center for Cultural Exchange. The Center consists of Ishikawa Modern Literature Museum in the eastern part (the first photo) and Ishikawa Shi-kō Memorial House in the western part (the second and third photos). At the back of the Center, there is a large green square called "Shibafu-hiroba" (the fourth and fifth photos).

I had lunch at Daiwa Department Store near the park and took the train back to Osaka. (End)
