堺市中区の鈴の宮公園へ西口から入ると、まず、ソメイヨシノが咲き始めているのが目に入る（1 枚目の写真）。池の北側の遊歩道を東へ進むと、池と道の間にオオシマザクラの並木がある。それらの中に、開花したと見られる木は少なかった。ところが、池の東端にある大きい二本の木のところまで行くと、がぜん、もうかなり咲いている光景となって驚いた（2、3 枚目の写真）。さらに東のスポーツ広場の南側に、大きなコブシの木があり、花盛りだった（4、5 枚目の写真）。帰途、わが家の近くの笠池公園のソメイヨシノも開花状態であるのを見た（最後の写真）。
Entering Suzunomiya Park, Sakai, from the west gate, I first saw a Yoshino cherry tree beginning to bloom (the top photo). Proceeding to the east along a promenade, we see a row of Oshima cherries between the promenade and a pond. Those trees were not blooming yet. However, I was surprised to find that two big Oshima cherries at the eastern end of the pond were already showing large numbers of blossoms (the second and third photos). At the southern side of the sports square, there is a tall tree of kobushi magnolia. This tree was in full bloom (the fourth and fifth photos). On my way back home, I saw Yoshino cherries in Kasaike Park starting to bloom (the bottom photo).
