上の写真は、3 月 14 日付けで掲載したわが家のセイロンベンケイの花たちのその後である。先に掲載したときの 1 枚目の写真は、今回の 1 枚目の写真の左に写っている背の低い方だけを撮ったものである。比較すると、花弁が顔をのぞかせた数がかなり増えたことが分る（今回の写真を撮る前に、咲き終わって花弁が萎れたものをいくつか取り除いてもいる）。セイロンベンケイの花は下向きに細長く咲くので、側面から見たのではあまり花らしくない。そこで、前回の 2 枚目の写真にあった花の房を、内部のおしべが見えるように下から見上げて撮ったのが、今回の 2 枚目の写真である。この写真の中心の向こう側の一つの花は、すでに咲き終わっている。
Photos above shows the present status of the flowers of air plant (Kalanchoe pinnata) in our house. Similar photos were posted on March 14. The upper photo of the earlier post showed only the stem at the left of the upper photo of the present post. By comparison, it can be seen that the number of flowers blooming increased considerably (it is also to be noted that, before taking the latter photo, I removed some withered flowers). Flowers of air plants have an elongated shape and bloom downward. So, they do not look like common flowers. To get a view of flowers with stamens inside, I took a picture by looking up the flower clusters shown in the lower photo of the previous post. The result is the lower photo of the present post. In this photo, a flower at the center beyond is seen to have finished blooming already.
