エイ・エム君へ：京大サイクロトロン破壊の論文別刷り礼状 (To A. M.: An Email Note of Receiving a Reprint of His Paper on the Destruction of Kyoto University Cyclotron)

Abstract: Yesterday, I received a reprint of a paper from A. M. The paper is entitled "Study on atomic nuclei made at Kyoto Imperial University during World War II and Inspection of It by Occupation forces (2): The destruction of the cyclotron" [The Circular "Genshikaku Kenkyu," Vol. 55, p. 89 (2011)], and is based on the materials he had found at US National Archives, Bunsaku Arakatsu's diary and other sources. I showed him my appreciation of the reprint and told him about my blog essays "Hideki Yukawa's words about nuclear power development" and "National policy and the principles of autonomy, democracy and openness." 　このたびは『原子核研究』Vol. 55, p. 89 (2011) にご発表の興味深いご論文の別刷り「第2次大戦下の京都帝大における原子核研究とその占領軍による捜索 (2) サイクロトロンの破壊」をお送りいただき、まことにありがとうございました。早速、拝読しました。

　荒勝先生が、サイクロトロン破壊当時の詳しい日記を残しておられたことに感服しました。その手書きの文を解読された貴君のご努力も並々でなかったことと拝察します。貴重な史実を巧みにまとめられたことに敬意を表します。続編も大いに期待しております。

　福島原発の事故については、私も専門が近いことでもあり、インターネットで海外の論評などを読むなどして、大いに気にして来ました。湯川先生が原子力委員を辞任された昔から、国の原子力政策が間違っていたことに気づき、ブログに書いたりしています。「原発計画に関する湯川博士の言葉 １」以下、「同 ３」までありますが、各回の末尾に次回へのリンクを記してあります。他に、昔読んだ武谷三男編『原子力発電』が指摘していた原子力政策の誤りについても、「国の政策と自主・民主・公開の原則」に書きました。ご笑覧いただければ幸いです。
